What is Substance Free?

Being substance free in Hood Hall means that you will refrain from using or possessing:

  1. All tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigars, burning tobacco in any form, and chewing tobacco.
  2. Alcohol, even if you are of legal age.
  3. Illegal drugs.

In addition, you will refrain from misusing prescription drugs.

You are responsible for upholding these policies within the residence hall, including rooms, hallways, bathrooms, stairwells, and lounges. You are prohibited from engaging in these activities outside of Hood Hall (i.e. at a party, in a friend’s room) and returning under the influence.  You are also responsible for the behavior of their guests, and must assume accountability for their actions.  Make sure your friends understand the policies of your living community to ensure that any and all guests have a safe, fun experience in Hood Hall.
