Message to Parents

Investing in a college education is a partnership between parents and students, which requires communication and collaboration. This is an important step to preparing students for life after graduation.

Financial Responsibility

Financial aid belongs to the student, not the parent. While the entire family’s finances affect aid, it is the student who is responsible for facilitating the process, beginning with completing their aid application. We suggest students and parents complete these together. Remember, this is your student’s application—you are just there to help with details of your family’s finances.

Billing notifications from the college are sent electronically. We highly recommend that students designate family members as “Authorized Payers” so that supporters can receive emails when bills are ready to view, access the bill, and make electronic payments. You should not ask your student for their log-in credentials.

Questions?

Every family’s circumstances are unique and may change throughout a student’s time at IC. We encourage you and your student to contact our office with questions and concerns.
