The Campus Community is hearing the call for the United Way Campaign - we are at 45% of our institutional goal! This is a tremendous start with still a ways to go. By now, everyone should have received their pledge card which identifies how you can give to the United Way. Sally and I have been visiting with folks around campus and pointing out the many ways that the United Way agencies can touch our lives. Over 40 different agencies receive support through the United Way. This year 100% of all of our contributions go directly to their work (administrative costs have been covered by the Corporate Cornerstone Partners - IC is one).

I am pleased to announce that the Board of Trustees decided at its fall meeting to create a one-time compensation program for staff and faculty employees, to be funded from the anticipated operating balance in the current year (FY2009-2010). They took this action upon recommendation of the Ithaca College Budget Committee, which I endorsed and forwarded to the trustees.
