Introduction to Alzheimer's for Caring Relatives
INTRODUCTION TO ALZHEIMER'S FOR CARING RELATIVES
A free workshop for persons concerned about a relative or friend with Alzheimer’s or a related disorder will be held Thursday, April 19, Noon- 1:30 PM at the Cooperative Extension Education Center, 615 Willow Avenue, Ithaca.
Jessica Cornell, Associate Program Director for the CNY Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, will present the workshop, titled THE BASICS: MEMORY LOSS, DEMENTIA, AND ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE. She will give an overview of Alzheimer’s and other diseases causing dementia and will discuss the symptoms and stages of the disease, communicating with someone who has Alzheimer's, and behaviors related to Alzheimer's. The program will conclude with a question and answer session. Information on supports and services available locally will be available.
