In order to be considered for federal or state aid, foreign students must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent residence; possess a valid alien registration card; have an arrival-departure record (I-94) from the Department of Homeland Security showing a status of refugee, asylum granted, indefinite parole, humanitarian parole, or Cuban-Haitian entrant; possess a valid temporary resident card (I-688) or have a conditional permanent resident card (I-151C).
If a student does not meet the above requirements, financial aid is limited to institutional aid sources including President and Dean's Scholarships, Ithaca Access Grant, WG. Egbert Founder's Grant, Ithaca Leadership Scholarships, endowed/special awards, and campus employment.
International students applying for need-based assistance for the first time must complete the International Student Financial Aid Application and the International Student Certification of Finances form, available for download in the sidebar or from the Offices of Admission and Financial Aid.
