A number of scholarship funds have been established at the College through the generosity of alumni, parents, friends, corporations, and foundations. Most of these scholarships and special awards were established by endowment gifts or bequests, though some are maintained through annual support from the donor.
The growing number of these funds provides an increasing source of support for deserving students. Scholarships are usually awarded annually and in accordance with the intent of the donor. For those that have financial need as a factor in determining eligibility, it is calculated based on institutional policy. For scholarships that are school specific, contact the deans' offices of in the school for any applications or additional information.
Awards are based primarily on academic performance. A few are awarded based on academic merit regardless of need, and an application process may be required. For awards based on financial need, the amount of the award is determined by the Student Financial Services Office (Office of Student Financial Services) and depends on the availability of funds and on recommendations from the dean and/or faculty.
Howard Alper Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a junior or senior finance major with demonstrated financial need and an established record of academic achievement. Established in honor of Howard Alper by his family and friends.
Philip J. Anderson '89 Scholarship
Awarded annually to a student in the School of Business who is in good academic standing and has demonstrated financial need. Preference is given to students from Tompkins and surrounding counties.
Wendy Bahlav '78 London Center Endowed Scholarship
This award will be made to a student majoring in business, theater arts, or art history who will be attending the London Center. The student must have demonstrated financial need.
Douglas Betts Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to outstanding students in the School of Business with demonstrated financial need.
Borg-Warner Scholarship
Awarded annually to an outstanding woman or African American Latino, Asian, or Native American (ALANA) student in the School of Business who aspires to a career in corporate management. Financial need is not required.
Daniel J. '87 and Karen Heiligman Branch '88 Business Scholarship
Awarded annually to an outstanding student, majoring in business, who demonstrates financial need.
Lewis H. Durland Scholarship
Awarded to students with financial need who attend the School of Business and reside in the greater Ithaca area and has financial need. Established by Frank and Barbara Collyer in memory of Lewis H. Durland, a member of the board of trustees from 1977 to 1983.
Dane Fischer '02 Scholarship Fund
Awarded to a student in the School of Business who, regardless of financial need, demonstrates leadership in the school and/or within the campus community, who has maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher. Established by Cris and Tom Fischer in honor of Dane's graduation from Ithaca College in May 2002.
Forster Educational Foundation Scholarship
Awarded to outstanding students in the field of accounting with financial need. Established by a gift from the Forster Educational Foundation.
R. G. "Red" Fowler Scholarship
Awarded to a student majoring in business with demonstrated financial need. Established in 1984 to honor R. G. "Red" Fowler, former manager of NCR and founder of the Friends of Ithaca College.
Stephen E. Garner Endowed Scholarship
Awarded annually to an outstanding junior or senior in the School of Business with recognized leadership abilities, commitment to the community, and demonstrated financial need. Established in memory of Stephen E. Garner in 2006.
Robert H. and Audrey E. Gordon Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to rising seniors in the School of Business with demonstrated financial need who have established records of academic achievement and active participation in volunteer service on and off campus. Preference is given to students planning to pursue graduate study in preparation for careers in labor relations, labor law, or education. Established as a memorial tribute to Audrey E. and Robert H. "Tickey" Gordon.
Joseph M. Hartnett Scholarship
Awarded to deserving students with financial need in the School of Business, with preference given to students from Tompkins County. Students must meet high citizenship standards both on and off campus. Strict measures of grade point averages or scholastic aptitude shall not be overemphasized. Established through gifts from the Tompkins Trust Company and the friends of Joseph M. Hartnett.
Seymour Knox Foundation Business Scholarship
Established by a grant from the Seymour Knox Foundation to benefit students from the Buffalo, New York, area who are enrolled in the School of Business. Financial need is not required.
Lynn Love Liepertz '70 Scholarship
Awarded to an outstanding student, majoring in either business or music with demonstrated financial need.
Aniello Massa Accounting Scholarship
Awarded, regardless of financial need, to full-time accounting majors at the sophomore or junior level who have exhibited outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated a commitment to the accounting program.
PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Scholarship
Awarded to accounting majors in their third year going into their fourth year, or in their fourth year and admitted to the M.B.A. program at Ithaca College, who demonstrate outstanding academic performance with a 3.30 GPA or higher, who plan to pursue careers in public accounting, and who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the United States. Selection will be based on an application process available through the accounting department and may include an interview with a representative from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Selection will be made by the dean of the School of Business upon recommendations from the accounting faculty. Established through contributions from the accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ithaca College alumni employed there. Financial need is not required.
Robert Rackow Scholarship
Awarded to students in the School of Business with demonstrated financial need. Established in memory of Robert Rackow.
Elmer D. Robinson Scholarship
Awarded to an M.B.A. student with demonstrated financial need and a GPA of at least 3.00. Preference is given to a student from Tompkins or surrounding counties. Established in memory of honorary trustee Elmer D. Robinson by his family and friends.
Hugh Rowland Scholarship
Awarded annually to an outstanding International Student in the School of Business who has demonstrated financial need. Established in honor of the former Associate Dean Hugh Roland in 2008 by Tas Hasan '01, School of Business.
David W. Sass '57 Distinguished Achievement Scholarship
Presented annually to a rising senior in the School of Business who has demonstrated financial need and the best record of academic achievement as determined by the dean. Established by alumnus and trustee David W. Sass to recognize and support superior academic achievement in business.
Michael Sherman and Sarah Skelton Sherman Scholarship Fund
Awarded annually to a junior or senior finance major with academic excellence and demonstrated financial need. The student will be a U.S. citizen or will have permanent nonresident status.
David P. Storch '75 Scholarship
Awarded to worthy students with financial need in the School of Business, this scholarship was established by David P. Storch '75.
John Sweeney '87 Memorial Scholarship
These awards are for students in the School of Business who demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit, actively help to improve campus life, and demonstrates financial need. Established in memory of John Sweeney, a 1987 graduate of the School of Business.
John T. Tucker '61 Scholarship
Awarded to a junior or senior from the School of Business with a grade point average of 2.75 or higher who demonstrates financial need and resides in northern New York State. Preference will be given to candidates from a select group of counties in the following order: Jefferson, Saint Lawrence, Lewis, and Franklin. In a given year, if there is no qualified candidate from the School of Business who meets these criteria, the scholarship should be awarded to a student from any school at the College with a GPA of 2.75 or higher who demonstrates financial need and who comes from northern New York. Preference will be given to candidates residing in the counties as indicated above. Established by John T. Tucker '61.
Robert A. Ullrich M.B.A. Scholarship
Awarded annually to an Ithaca College School of Business graduate entering an Ithaca College School of Business master's program, with the highest undergraduate GPA and demonstrating active involvement and leadership in the school. Financial need is not required. This merit-based scholarship honors the service and dedication of Robert Ullrich, dean of the School of Business, 1998-2004.
Michelle Vitale '92 Accounting Scholarship
Awarded annually to an accounting student who demonstrates exceptional involvement in the campus community and who has financial need. This scholarship is in memory of Michelle Vitale '92, who was an active member of the School of Business accounting program.
Scholarships in the School of Communications are awarded to students based primarily on academic performance and financial need. A few are awarded based on academic merit regardless of need. Most require an application. For awards based on financial need, the amount of the award is determined by the Office of Student Financial Services and depends on the availability of funds and on recommendations from the dean and/or faculty.
Additional information about scholarships in communications, including eligibility requirements, can be obtained in January of each year from the Park scholar center in 326 Park Hall. The application deadline is mid-February.
Anthony Ceracche Scholarship
Awarded annually to outstanding students with demonstrated financial need in the Roy H. Park School of Communications.
Philip H. Dougherty Minority Journalism Scholarship
Preference is given to an African American Latino, Asian, or Native American (ALANA) student with evidence of academic and/or creative merit in journalism and participation in journalism-related co-curricular activities. Financial need is required. Established to honor the late Philip H. Dougherty, respected columnist for the New York Times.
Christine E. Gagliardi Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a student in the Roy H. Park School of Communications who is completing his/her junior year. The student must demonstrate financial need, maintain a grade point average of 3.35 or higher, and participate in at least one extracurricular activity other than athletics. This award may also be given to an Ithaca College student who is completing his/her junior year, is majoring in education, and meets the same criteria as above. The scholarship was established by family and friends in memory of Christine E. Gagliardi '06.
Diane Gayeski Scholarship
Established in honor of Diane Gayeski by the Richard A. Morris family. Awarded annually to a junior or senior from the Roy H. Park School of Communications with demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students who plan to pursue studies that include the theory and practice of both human and media-based communication within organizations. The student's plan of studies must include courses in business, organizational learning/instructional design, promotional/marketing communication, media design and production, current ethical and social issues impacting workplace learning, and organizational/speech/interpersonal communication.
Michael Hanna Television-Radio Scholarship
Awarded annually to students with financial need in the television-radio department who demonstrate outstanding promise and performance in the area of communications management. Established in memory of Michael Hanna, founder of the Ithaca College radio department and its first instructor.

Awarded annually to a rising junior or senior in the School of Communications who is in good academic standing and who has demonstrated financial need. This award is established in memory of Andrea P. Herman '80 by family and friends.
Sandra L. Herndon Scholarship

Krashesky Scholarship for Excellence in Communications

Kristan Landen Film Scholarship

Park Scholar Awards
These awards, made possible by the generosity of the Park Foundation, are intended to recognize and reward outstanding students in the Roy H. Park School of Communications who, regardless of financial need, demonstrate significant academic and creative achievement in communications, involvement in relevant cocurricular activities, and community service on and beyond campus. Awarded annually to incoming freshmen only; scholars receive this award throughout their Ithaca College career by maintaining a predetermined standard of performance.
James B. Pendleton Cinema and Photography Scholarships
Awarded annually to majors in the cinema, photography, and media arts department who have achieved excellence in film production, film studies, screenwriting, and still photography regardless of financial need. Made possible by a bequest from the estate of James B. Pendleton.
James B. Pendleton Filmmaking Awards
Multiple awards are given annually to cinema production majors to support completion of student film projects. Financial need is not required. Established in 1977 by James B. Pendleton.
Charles L. and Janice C. Rumrill Writing Scholarship
Awarded to outstanding students who show great promise as writers in the field of journalism or communications with demonstrated financial need. Established by gifts from the late Janice C. and Charles L. Rumrill. Charles Rumrill was a member of the board of trustees from 1965 to 1980.

Ivan "Jimmy" Schneider Scholarship
Awarded to a rising Park School sophomore with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. Rod Serling Communications Scholarship
Awarded annually to students in the Park School who demonstrate outstanding creative script writing ability and have financial need. Made possible by gifts from the family and friends of the late Rod Serling, who was a visiting professor in the television-radio department for many years.

Joseph Zaleski Broadcast Sales and Syndication Scholarship
Awarded annually to a student from the Roy H. Park School of Communications who is in good academic standing and has demonstrated financial need. Awarded to a student in the clinical health studies/physical therapy program with demonstrated financial need. Established by friends and family in memory of Emmett Boldt '60.

Awarded annually to a student entering the senior year in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance. Eligible students must have financial need, demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and be recommended to the dean by their department chair. Preference will be given first to students residing in Tompkins County, then to surrounding counties, and finally to any other New York State resident.

Awarded annually to a student in good academic standing and with demonstrated financial need who is majoring in health policy studies and/or health services administration. Awarded annually to a junior in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance who has a demonstrated commitment to academic excellence, a GPA of at least 3.00, and demonstrated financial need. Preference is given to students from rural areas of New York State.
Duncan Hines Nutrition Scholarship
Awarded to students with minors or concentrations in nutrition who are in good academic standing and have financial need. Established by gifts from the Duncan Hines Foundation.
Charles A. Frueauff Foundation Scholarship
For outstanding students in the Departments of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, or programs in community health education, therapeutic recreation, and health policy studies. Financial need is a requirement.
Martha M. Kelsey Endowed Scholarship
Awarded annually to an outstanding sophomore, junior, or senior majoring in physical education (teaching) or health education and physical education (teaching) who has demonstrated financial need.
Susan Brokaw Kimmons Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a senior in occupational therapy for the fifth year of study. The student will be in good academic standing and have demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to a student with an interest in hand therapy.
Professor Karl K. and Marjorie Klein Endowed Scholarship
For undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior students in the Departments of Exercise and Sport Sciences, Health Promotion and Physical Education, or Recreation and Leisure Studies with demonstrated financial need who show outstanding academic performance and expertise in the basic sciences.
Dean William B. Koch Endowed Scholarship
Awarded annually through an application and selection process to a rising senior in the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences. The recipient will be selected on the basis of academic merit; demonstration of financial need is not required. Koch scholars must have a GPA of 3.50 or higher and provide evidence of scholarship activity in professional organizations and/or academic research in areas relating to exercise and sport sciences. Jack W. Novin '38 Scholarship in Physical Education

Awarded to women with financial need who are New York State residents and are currently majoring in physical education. Established by Nancy L. Olsen '65 to honor her parents.
Phi Delta Pi Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to a deserving female student in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance. The scholarship recipient must demonstrate academic excellence, exhibit leadership on campus and in community activities, and show financial need.
Physical Therapy Endowment
Awarded to outstanding seniors and fifth-year students in the clinical science/physical therapy program with financial need.
Plus One Scholarship
Awarded annually to a full-time junior or senior in the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences majoring in athletic training, exercise science, or fitness. Eligible students must have at least a 2.80 cumulative GPA, have demonstrated financial need, be recommended to the dean by their department chair, and provide a résumé and letter describing their career goals and commitment to the health and well-being of others. Merton J. Roberts '35 Scholarship

Awarded to a student with financial need in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance, with a preference for physical education majors who plan to pursue careers in teaching. Established in memory of Chester S. Southwick by his son.
Tioga County Home Bureau Scholarship
Awarded to a deserving student majoring in therapeutic recreation or occupational therapy who demonstrates financial need. Preference is given to the therapeutic recreation major.

Awarded annually to an acting or musical theater major with financial need whose talent and academic ability demonstrate potential for achievement in the performing arts. Established by the friends of Peter Bergstrom '81 in his memory.
Bernard Scholarship
Awarded annually to juniors and seniors in the biological science program who are in good academic standing and who have demonstrated financial need.
Chemistry Book Award
Given to chemistry majors who have the highest GPA in required chemistry and science courses during their first and second years of study. Financial need is not a criterion.
Cissy Cheskis Scholarship
Awarded annually to a student in the Department of Theatre Arts, with a preference for acting majors. Recipients must demonstrate progressive academic achievement and have financial need. Established in memory of Cissy Cheskis by her son, Robert Saxner '88.
Katherine B. "Toby" Clarey '31 Memorial Scholarship

These awards are made to outstanding theater arts majors with financial need. Established in memory of Richard M. Clark, chair of the Ithaca College Department of Theatre Arts from 1981 to 1987, by friends, colleagues, alumni, and family.
Professor G. Ferris Cronkhite Scholarship
Established through a generous bequest from Professor G. Ferris Cronkhite, this scholarship is awarded annually to students with financial need who demonstrate success in English, art history, French literature, German literature, or Spanish literature. Professor Cronkhite joined the Ithaca College English department faculty in 1966. He retired in 1982 and was named professor emeritus in 1985.
Jason Dickens Memorial Book Award
Awarded to a rising senior, majoring in biology. Given in memory of Jason Dickens, a prior student at Ithaca College. Financial need is not a criterion.
Dicker Family Scholarship
Awarded annually to a deserving student in the School of Humanities and Sciences majoring in art with a demonstrated financial need. Established in December 2006 in honor of Jaclyn G. Dicker '08 and her achievements.
Russell Drago Chemistry Award
Based on academic achievement, laboratory skills, and promise in the field of chemistry, awards are made to rising seniors recommended by the faculty of the Department of Chemistry. Financial need is not required.
Fred L. Emerson Foundation Humanities Collaboration Award (EHCA)
Humanities majors with financial need as determined by the College are eligible to apply for funding to support academic collaborations with humanities faculty members. Preference is given to rising juniors and seniors. The collaboration usually occurs during the summer but may take place during the academic year. In circumstances approved by the EHCA committee, limited funding may be provided to support travel expenses.
English Majors Scholarship
Established by gifts from faculty members and alumni, this scholarship is awarded to English majors who have outstanding academic records and proven financial need.
Christine E. Gagliardi Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a student in the Roy H. Park School of Communications who is completing his/her junior year. The student must demonstrate financial need, maintain a grade point average of 3.35 or higher, and participate in at least one extracurricular activity other than athletics. This award may also be given to an Ithaca College student who is completing his/her junior year, is majoring in education, and meets the same criteria as above. The scholarship was established by family and friends in memory of Christine E. Gagliardi '06.
Florence Marro Gallagher Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Florence Marro Gallagher by her son, John E. Gallagher '69. To be awarded annually to a deserving and committed student in the School of Music or in one of the following majors: art, art education, art history, drama, acting, theatrical production arts, musical theater, or theater arts management. The student must have demonstrated financial need. When possible, preference will be given to an Italian American woman.

Awarded annually to a junior or senior speech communication major wth demonstrated financial need who has a GPA of at least 3.50. Established by the late Carolyn Gilbert '64, a former member of the speech communication faculty.
Willilalm Jacobson Writing Scholarship
Awarded annually to a sophomore, junior, or senior writing major with a minimum GPA of 3.0 whose talent, academic ability, and achievement demonstrate an outstanding commitment to the writing major. Financial need as determined by the College is required.
Golberstein Jewish Studies Travel Endowment
Awards grants to Ithaca College students minoring in Jewish studies who want to broaden their understanding of the history and survival of the Jewish people through formal study involving travel. Students are encouraged to travel to communities that they have never before visited and that have historical significance for Jews. Financial need is not required.
George A. Gonzalez-Gallardo '79 Scholarship

Thomas Morrin Jones Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a senior who has financial need; who is majoring in biology, chemistry, mathematics, or some combination of the sciences; and who, through his or her academic work and community activities, best exemplifies a commitment to the liberal arts and the tradition of social service as personified by Thomas Morrin Jones.

Larry Metzger, M.S. '87 Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to rising junior or senior majoring in biology, biochemistry, or chemistry with demonstrated significant financial need. The recipient must also have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2 or higher and intend to pursue an advanced degree in science other than a medical degree. The Larry Metzger, M.S. ’87, Memorial Scholarship was established by Ithaca College in conjunction with donations from Larry’s family, colleagues, and friends to honor and remember his many contributions and great dedication to the College community for over 30 years.
Gustav A. and Olivia Nelson Memorial Emergency Fund
The purpose of this fund is to provide emergency funds to scholars. Preference will be given to students in the School of Music or the School of Humanities and Sciences who are majoring in piano performance, English, drama, or speech communication, and/or who are members of the Oracle Society. Emergency funds are characterized as funds that can provide relief for students who need access to quick cash for emergencies, for example, to travel due to a family emergency, deal with a personal or family health crisis, or attend a funeral. Funds may be used for tuition where family circumstances have drastically changed once the academic year is under way. The director of student financial services (director of financial aid) will be responsible for administering the fund and will dispense the grants based upon needs as they arise. The fund is named for Gustav A. Nelson '29 and his wife, Olivia.

Awarded to a student with financial need who is majoring in theater arts or English and has a GPA of 3.00 or higher. Preference is given to students from Pennsylvania. Established in memory of Frances Nobel Newell '32 by her daughter, Debbie Duffield.
Pervi Family Endowed Scholarship
Provides financial aid for a student in the School of Humanities and Sciences who is a United States Marine Corps disabled veteran due to combat injuries for which a Purple Heart has been awarded, or the minor dependent of a United States marine killed in action due to hostile fire, or a student selected for the honors program, with demonstrated financial need. The criteria reflect the order of preference for award.
Robert A. Ryan History Scholarship
Established by professor emeritus Robert A. Ryan through his estate. Awarded annually to students with a declared major in history. Financial need is not a requirement.
David W. Sass '57 History Scholarship
Established to recognize outstanding achievement in the study of history. Based on proven financial need and the recommendation of Department of History faculty members, awards are made each year to academically accomplished history majors, with preference given to students entering the junior or senior year. Financial need is a requirement. Made possible through a gift from David W. Sass '57, a graduate of the history department and a member of the Ithaca College Board of Trustees.
Peter F. Seligmann Memorial Scholarship in Physics
Awarded annually to a rising sophomore, junior, or senior who is a declared physics major. Eligible students must demonstrate excellence in physics, as determined by the department chair, and have demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to female students. Jane Woods Werly '27 Endowed Scholarship Fund
Established by Jane Woods Werly '27 for students with financial need majoring in theater arts or music and concentrating in musical theater.
Unless otherwise noted, scholarships are awarded to returning students only. Applications are made available to students early in the spring semester through the dean's office. Students will need to submit applications by early March to be considered for the following fall. In most cases scholarships are awarded for a full academic year. Students may apply for up to three awards. Primary factors in consideration include cumulative GPA, the student's year, faculty recommendations, and other information provided on the application. If financial need is required, the amount of an award is determined by the Student Financial Services Office depending on the availability of funds and on recommendations from the dean.

Preference is given to members of the Lambda chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon who plan to teach music in public schools. Awarded annually to a deserving student in the School of Music with demonstrated financial need. Established in memory of band leader Patrick Conway, who founded the Conway Military Band School at Ithaca Conservatory of Music which grew to become Ithaca College.

Established by the Fred L. Emerson Foundation to honor James J. Whalen, Ithaca College's sixth president, for his 22 years of distinguished leadership of the College and for his steadfast dedication to its students. Awarded annually to the entering freshman music major with the highest combined academic and musical rating. The James J. Whalen Young Artist Award covers up to the cost of full tuition and is renewed automatically for up to a total of nine semesters (summer sessions excluded) as long as the recipient maintains a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 and remains enrolled full-time and in good standing as a music major at Ithaca College. Awarded regardless of financial need.

Established in memory of professor emeritus Carl H. Wickstrom '38, School of Music. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student in the School of Music who excels in both woodwind musical performance and in his or her goals as a music educator. Financial need is required.

Preference is given to applicants from Tompkins and Monroe Counties or adjacent areas. The award may be renewed as long as the recipient continues to demonstrate financial need.

The Ithaca College London Center program is available to all academically qualified sophomores, juniors, and seniors. This grant is awarded to rising juniors and seniors with demonstrated financial need who wish to participate in the London Program.

For students who are willing to help themselves by working at the Campus Center and who show good academic performance and demonstrated financial need.
Class of '84, Class of '85, and Class of '93 Endowed Scholarships
Established by members of the 1984, 1985, and 1993 senior classes as their gifts to the College. Awarded to a junior or senior with financial need, solid academic achievement, and an active involvement in campus organizations, upon recommendation by the director of campus activities and orientation and the director of financial aid.

Established by members of the 1991 senior class as their gift to the College and later expanded to include gifts memorializing former classmates. Awarded to a junior or senior with financial need, solid academic achievement, and an active involvement in campus organizations.
Class of 2006 Endowed Scholarship
Awarded annually to a rising senior. Eligible students must have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA and demonstrate outstanding leadership and involvement in the Ithaca College community. There is no financial need criterion. This award honors the many contributions of the members of the class of 2006.
Robert Reed Colbert Sr. Scholarship
Created through the generosity of Robert Reed Colbert Sr., a longtime trustee and friend of the College., Robert Colbert was a highly accomplished businessman, especially in areas of banking and real estate, who served his community with dedication and distinction throughout his life. The Colbert scholarship awards are made annually to academically promising sophomores, juniors, and seniors from the greater Ithaca, Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse areas who show demonstrated financial need.
Howard I. Dillingham Scholarship
Awarded to outstanding students in their junior and senior years who have demonstrated academic excellence and financial need.
Susan A. DiPace '74 Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to a rising sophomore, junior, or senior African American Latino, Asian, or Native American (ALANA) student with demonstrated financial need who is in good academic standing. This scholarship may be awarded to one or more students in any given year. This scholarship is awarded in memory of Susan. A. DiPace '74, who loved Ithaca College and served it well.
Janet B. Donald '57 Scholarship
This award is given annually to a high-achieving graduate of Ithaca High School who has financial need.
Fred L. Emerson Endowed Scholarship and Internship Fund
Awarded to students based on their significant contributions to the extracurricular life of the College and meritorious academic performance. Both scholarship and internship funds are available and require demonstrated financial need.
Georgia Hume Evans Memorial Scholarship
Established by gifts from the Georgia Hume Evans Trust. Awarded to students who have financial need and are in good academic standing.
Ford Family Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a student in good academic standing with demonstrated financial need.
Friends of Ithaca College Scholarship
Awarded to outstanding students who reside in Tompkins and surrounding counties with demonstrated financial need. Made possible by contributions from the Friends of Ithaca College.
William F. Fuerst Jr. Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to students with demonstrated financial need. Preference is given to students who have shown involvement and commitment to the Ithaca College community through their extracurricular activities. Established in 2003 through a bequest characteristic of the generosity and philanthropy of William F. Fuerst Jr.
Jay C. '65 and Ardelle L. Gardner Scholarship
Awarded to a junior or senior who has shown the commitment and character to stay in school and who would otherwise be unable to complete his or her education without this award. Financial need is a requirement.
Margaret I. Gibson Scholarship
Established in 2004, the Margaret I. Gibson Scholarship shall be awarded to a student who has demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to a student from Cortland or Tompkins County, or surrounding counties.
Joseph M. Gluck '49 Scholarship
Awarded to a meritorious student with demonstrated financial need in memory of Joseph M. Gluck '49.
John B. Harcourt Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to a deserving student with financial need. Established in memory of John B. Harcourt, the first Charles A. Dana Professor of Ithaca College, teacher, and friend.
Jed Haubenstock Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to a student entering the senior year who demonstrates leadership and involvement in campus activities, as well as a high degree of commitment to furthering the quality of life on the Ithaca College campus. The award is made upon recommendation of the campus adviser for student activities and governance. Financial need is not a criterion.
William Randolph Hearst Foundation Scholarship
Awarded annually to African American Latino, Asian, or Native American (ALANA) students with high academic achievement and financial need.
Richard Hirshfield Scholarship
Awarded for academic achievement and demonstrated financial need, with preference given to residents of Connecticut.
Holt Architects, P.C. Scholarship
Awarded to a student in good academic standing with demonstrated financial need. Recipient must be a resident of New York State. This award made possible by the generosity of long time friends and business associates, Holt Architects, P.C.
Anne M. Humphrey Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Anne M. Humphrey, director of business services at Ithaca College from 1984 to 1988. Through gifts from family, friends, and colleagues, this award is made to a student who has (1) worked in the Ithaca College dining services, purchasing, warehouse, general services, special events, bookstore, or business services offices; (2) held a position in one of these offices for at least one year and intends to continue that work during the academic year in which the scholarship is to be awarded; (3) assumed demonstrable additional responsibilities during employment in one of the previously mentioned offices; and (4) has demonstrated financial need.

Ithaca College Faculty and Staff Endowed Scholarship for Students
To be awarded annually to a deserving student with a strong academic profile and demonstrated financial need. Established in October 2006 in celebration of the Campaign for Ithaca by the faculty and staff of Ithaca College.

To be awarded annually to deserving students with demonstrated financial need.
J. J. Staff Scholar Award
Established through contributions from staff, faculty, and friends of James J. Whalen, Ithaca College's sixth president, in honor of his 22 years of service to the College. It is awarded annually to a full-time member of the staff who is matriculated in the employee degree program. Candidates must have completed at least 90 credits toward graduation and maintain a GPA of 3.20 or higher. The deciding criterion for awarding the scholarship is length of service. Financial need is not a criterion.

Awarded to outstanding students in their junior and senior years who have demonstrated academic excellence and financial need.
John E. Keshishoglou Scholarship for International Students
Awarded annually to an outstanding international student with financial need.
Ben Light '36 Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to one student nominated by his or her department for outstanding contribution to the community. Financial need is reqired. Established by gifts from the family and friends of the late Ben Light, a devoted administrator who helped build the South Hill campus.
Erin Marie Masling '03 Memorial Scholarship
The Erin Marie Masling Memorial Scholarship was established to support and assist a student who has overcome or who manages a chronic illness or physical disability to live his/her life to the fullest, as Erin did. This scholarship is awarded annually to a rising sophomore, junior, or senior with a GPA of 3.0 or greater. Financial need is not a consideration.
Adrian O. Pearsall Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to deserving graduates of Trumansburg High School attending Ithaca College. The recipients receive the award for four consecutive years, providing they remain in good academic standing and continue to demonstrate financial need.
Perennials Scholarship
Established with the help of the late Lillian Speakman Vail '21 to honor those classes who graduated from the College 50 or more years ago. Awarded to students who have financial need and demonstrate good academic performance.
Margaret Reid Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to juniors or seniors demonstrating leadership qualities and a wide range of active participation in campus organizations. Financial need is required. Applications are available in the Office of Student Government.
Carole L. Rice '84 Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Carole L. Rice '84 by her family. To be awarded annually to a deserving and committed student with demonstrated financial need.
Rashad G. Richardson "I Can Achieve" Memorial Scholarship
This merit scholarship recognizes a high-achieving student representing the African American, Latino, Asian, or Native American (ALANA) community. The student receiving this scholarship will have made significant contributions toward improving the quality of life for ALANA youth in the Tompkins County community. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible and should be in good academic and judicial standing, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Financial need is not a criterion.

Lois M. Shofer '67 Scholarship for Community College Transfer Students
Awarded annually to a rising junior or senior student who has transferred from a community college and who has demonstrated financial need.
Anne Siegel '81 Memorial Scholarship
Established through gifts to the College from the family and friends of the late Anne Siegel '81. Awarded annually to a rising junior or senior with financial need who most closely personifies the qualities and attributes of Anne Siegel, including good academic performance and involvement in the extracurricular life of the College.
Diane Frankle Storck '70 Scholarship
Established by Diane Frankle Storck '70 to assist students in their junior or senior year who are facing an unexpected financial situation that jeopardizes their continued enrollment at Ithaca College. Students should have demonstrated solid academic achievement and, if possible, a record of service to and/or leadership in the Ithaca College community.
Student Government Scholarship
Awarded to exemplary juniors or seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence and involvement in campus life. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.6 and participate in a broad range of experiences on campus. Recipients who show demonstrated financial need will receive scholarship funds. Applications are available in the Office of Student Government.
Studin Sisters London Center Scholarship
Awarded annually to an outstanding students with demonstrated financial need who is attending the Ithaca College London Center. Established in 2008 by Jan Studin '79 School of Business and Cindi Studin Berger '83 Humanities and Sciences. Application is made through the Office of International Student Programs.
Surdna Foundation Scholarship
Awarded to deserving students who show good academic achievement and demonstrate financial need.
George C. Textor Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to students who show meritorious academic performance and demonstrated financia lneed. Established by friends in memory of the late George C. Textor, chairman of the College's board of trustees from 1966 to 1968.
Norman D. Wall Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Norman D. Wall by his family, friends, and colleagues and the students he served. To be awarded annually to a student with a minimum 3.00 GPA with a demonstrated financial need, who has been a Student Auxiliary Safety Patrol (SASP) member for at least one year and plans to continue working with SASP. Preference will be given to a SASP member who is a graduate of the Newfield Central School District.
Washington, D.C., Scholarship for Unpaid Summer Internships
Awarded annually through an application and selection process to a rising sophomore, junior, or senior. The scholarship provides financial assistance to a student who has an unpaid summer internship in the Washington, D.C., area. The internship may be credit bearing or non-credit bearing. The recipient will be in good academic and judicial standing, with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better, and demonstrate financial need. Established through the generosity of alumni residing in the Washington, D.C., area.
J. J. Whalen Turtle Bridge Scholarships
Established by a gift from James J. and Gillian H. Whalen. Awarded annually to outstanding seniors who have shown steady improvement in academic performance during their undergraduate careers at Ithaca and who are actively involved in the campus and/or local community. Financial need is required.
David A. and Peggy R. Williams International Study Grant
Awarded to Ithaca College students with significant financial need who will be participating in an international academic experience. Eligible students includes those participating in semester long or shorter programs, as well as other international academic experiences, such as independent studies.
