The rapid, continued expansion of the PA profession has placed it at the forefront of increasing the availability of high-quality healthcare and I chose to become a PA because it is important to me that I be an active part of this change. I want to make a direct impact on local communities by ensuring each patient receives the due care that every individual deserves. The emphasis that the Ithaca College PA Program places on diversity and mental health as integral components of its educational design was incredibly important to me as it strongly aligns with both my personal values and professional ideals. I chose this program because I felt confident that not only would it provide me with an excellent education, but also enable me to refine the skills necessary to become a PA with a deep sense of adaptability, patience, and cultural sensitivity. I am most looking forward to learning the intricacies of patient interactions and providing care through hands-on learning experiences. I am incredibly excited to hone my abilities that will allow me to gather history from patients and be able to translate that information into appropriate workups, then eventually treatment plans that will make positive impacts on my patient's lives.
