I would like to become a physician assistant because I will be able to improve overall patient care by increasing the amount of time that a patient spends with a provider. Through shadowing I have seen the poor health outcomes that arise due to the lack of quality patient care given to those particularly in medically underserved areas. I chose Ithaca PA Program because it is important to me to attend a program that focuses on diversity, equity, and inclusion because developing greater diversity within the PA profession is essential. I also chose Ithaca PA Program because I admire the emphasis on behavioral and mental health care. As a future physician assistant I am looking forward to expanding access to healthcare, particularly in medically underserved areas.
