IC Alert Emergency Notification System

Ithaca College has partnered with Rave Mobile Safety to provide a comprehensive Emergency Notification System (ENS) that can deliver time-sensitive messages to members of the campus community via phone, email and text, as well as to provide access to critical safety resources through the Rave Guardian mobile app. We highly encourage all members of the campus community to download the free app, which can be found in the Google Play Store for Android and the Apple App Store for iOS.

How to Receive IC Alert Messages

You can manage your emergency alerts and notifications via phone call, text message and email by accessing your default Rave profile and log in using your Ithaca College Netpass credentials.

If you have not logged in on this internet browser before, or have recently cleared browsing history within your browser, you will come to a screen with a search bar. Type Ithaca into the search bar and select “Ithaca College” and select the continue button.

From there you can add additional phone numbers to your contact information, providing additional means through which you would like to receive emergency messages. If you are unable to log in, please contact the IT Service Desk. For more information check out our Rave Self Service documentation.

Alternatively, once you have downloaded and installed the Rave Guardian app, you can select Ithaca College as your institution and edit your contact information from My Account on the app. You will be able to update/edit your profile information at any time from either the Rave website or the Rave Guardian mobile app.

By default, ENS messages go to all active Ithaca College email accounts and to faculty and staff office telephones that are listed in the campus directory. In your Rave profile, you may add telephone numbers (cell phone, parent(s), spouse, partner, home, e.g.) who you would also like to receive any voice messages in the event of an emergency. Please note that the Mobile (1) field is permanently locked as your default number used by the college. The phone number that is used for the Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) system is the one used for this purpose. This default number will be used by the college to contact you by text and voice in the event of an emergency.

Each user can also add two other mobile phone numbers for receiving IC Alerts in the Mobile (2) and Mobile (3) fields. Each number can be set up to receive just voice calls or a voice call and text message.

Access to this system is available only to currently registered students and current faculty and staff members.

It is important to have multiple ways to receive alerts in order to ensure access to essential information in a timely fashion. Please be aware that, because of system capacities, not everyone will receive an alert message by each method at exactly the same time.

Visitor Access to IC Alert Messages

Ithaca College’s Emergency Notification System does allow campus visitors and others who are not current students, faculty, or staff to sign up to receive an IC Alert text whenever the college sends out an emergency message via Rave. If you wish to opt in to this service, text “ICVisitor” to 226787 to receive messages from Ithaca College. You can stop receiving messages at any time by texting “leave ICVisitor” to 226787. Message and data rates may apply. Text messages are sent on an as-needed basis. This service is provided per the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. On July 15 of each year, all opt-in users will be purged from the system, at which time you must re-enroll if you wish to continue receiving IC Alert text messages for the next year.
