Leadership Giving

These gifts provide a strong foundation of support that empowers the college to excel across multiple areas and in multiple ways.

Dexters

One couple that continues to inspire on this front is Eric ’93 and Angela Dexter ’92, parents ’21. “We are big believers in the impact of education, and our time at IC was life-changing for us,” they share.

Angela, in particular, was the first in her family to attend college and was only able to go to IC because of the financial aid she received. Being welcomed into IC’s inclusive community changed the trajectory of her life completely and also brought her and Eric together.

As alumni of the School of Humanities and Sciences, Eric and Angela are strong believers in the value of a liberal arts education. Eric’s successful career in finance may at first glance appear to have little to do with his liberal arts degree, but to Eric, many of the skills he honed, and subjects he studied, while in the School of Humanities and Sciences—including behavioral finance, psychology, and communication and presentation skills—have been significant contributors to his career.

“Taking care of IC is absolutely on our highest priority list. We want to do as much as we can, for as long as we can.”

ERIC ’93 AND ANGELA DEXTER ’92

That’s why, today, Eric and Angela choose to make Ithaca College a philanthropic priority. They’ve supported numerous aspects of the IC experience, including making gifts to the IC Annual Fund.

The Dexters’ contributions to the IC experience also extend far beyond financial ones: Eric has offered mentorship and guidance to many students over the years, and Eric and Angela both currently volunteer as parent co-chairs of the IC Annual Fund.

For Eric and Angela, supporting IC in multiple ways ultimately allows them to remain connected to their alma mater and to make a difference in students’ lives.
