Vijay Gupta is a violinist, speaker, and writer whose work weaves together music, neuroscience, and lived experience to explore how people learn, adapt, and find meaning under pressure. His work speaks to students, entrepreneurs, artists, and communities seeking resilience, belonging, and purpose. A recipient of the MacArthur Fellowship, he is the founder and Artistic Director of Street Symphony, a nonprofit bringing music into shelters, clinics, jails, and reentry spaces across Los Angeles. A former youngest-ever member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Gupta speaks widely to universities, healthcare systems, companies, and public audiences. His memoir Restrung will be published in 2026.
WHEN THE VIOLIN—a soul-stirring evening of music, movement, and meaning. Violinist Vijay Gupta, hailed as a "visionary" by The New Yorker, joins celebrated dancer/choreographer Yamini Kalluri for a poignant performance blending Bach, Reena Esmail, poetry, and Kuchipudi dance.
Together, Gupta and Kalluri craft a transcendent journey through sound and story—where classical meets contemporary, and tradition meets transformation.
