When should I study abroad?
You may study abroad for an academic year, semester, summer or winter session during your sophomore, junior or senior year. Major requirements or prerequisite course work may dictate when you study abroad. For example, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy students MUST study abroad during the fall semester of the sophomore year to graduate on time. Study abroad program prerequisites may also play a role in determining when you go abroad. Some programs require extensive background in a foreign language or other specific academic preparation. You should work closely with your academic advisor to determine when you should study abroad. You must also meet Ithaca College's study abroad eligibility requirements in order to earn academic credit for work completed on a study abroad program.
