Our research theme is materials for alternative energies and fuels. The material that we are investigating currently are nanocrystalline oxides which, when placed in water with exposure to sunlight, can generate electricity.

Our ultimate goal with these new materials is to generate hydrogen gas by splitting water, ultimately making an environmentally friendly energy source in an environmentally sensible manner. We also hope to use materials to incorporate a greenhouse gas, CO2 into the production of small molecules.
