Being from Waddington, NY, a small town overlooking the Canadian border, I was excited to begin my college search. I was a swimmer for 13 years. During my high school career, I competed at the NYSPHSAA Swimming Championship held at the A&E Center. Although I never heard of Ithaca College, little did I know that a couple years later, I would declare a major in exercise science, and become a member of the Women’s Swimming and Diving team. As an athlete who was nursing a chronic shoulder injury, I was constantly in and out of the athletic training clinics. The time I spent with my athletic training mentors fostered the realization that becoming an athletic trainer was my calling. Following graduation, I will be moving to Charlottesville, VA, to begin the master’s program in athletic training at the University of Virginia.

I attribute my most memorable experience at Ithaca College to my teammates. Having spent four years with these incredible people, there is absolutely no way I can choose just one memory. Being a student-athlete at Ithaca College was a truly special time of my life and an opportunity I will hold dear to my heart forever.
