Entangled Infiltrations: New Media Exhibition Launch and Roundtable

Dale Hudson (NYU Abu Dhabi) and Claudia Pederson (Wichita State U), curators featuring artists whose work is included in the Entangled Infiltrations exhibition.

The Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF) invited submissions for its online exhibition, Entangled Infiltrations. The final selections will be announced and discussed at this event, facilitated by two scholar/curators who are at the leading edge of new media curation and critical analysis. Dale Hudson, New York University Abu Dhabi

Dale Hudson is Associate Teaching Professor of Film and New Media and Curator of Film and New Media at New York University Abu Dhabi. He is author of Vampires, Race, and Transnational Hollywoods and co-author with Patricia R. Zimmermann of Thinking through Digital Media: Transnational Environments and Locative Places. His essays and other writings appear in Afterimage, American Quarterly, Cinema Journal, Film Quarterly, Jadaliyya, Media + Environment, Screen, Studies in Documentary Film, Studies in South Asian Film and Media, and other journals and anthologies.

Dale Hudson

He has curated and co-curated annual online exhibitions of digital media for the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF) since 2007. He has served as a member of the board of directors for the Association of Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Studies (AGAPS) since 2017 and has coordinated Film from the Gulf at the Middle East Studies Association (MESA) Film Festival since 2016. He also programs art exhibitions and film series, mostly related to the Gulf, with the NYUAD Art Gallery and NYUAD Institute.

Claudia Pederson, Wichita State University

Claudia Pederson is Associate Professor of Art History at Wichita State University. She is the author of Gaming Utopia: Ludic Worlds in Art, Design, and Media (Indiana, 2021). Her writings on play, games, digital photography, and techno-ecological art have been published in Afterimage, Intelligent Agent, Eludamos, as well as the International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA), Design Automation Conference (DAC), and CHIconference Proceedings. Her essays have also appeared in several anthologies.

Claudia Pederson

She is a contributing moderator to -empyre-, an online listserve on new media art. Since 2007,  she has been a regular contributor to Finger Lakes Film Festival (FLEFF). Other recent curatorial projects include, Gün, with Turkish women working in the intersections of media and feminism (2011-2012), and Home/s, a curatorial event with Turkish, Greek, and Bulgarian women at the Benaki museum, Athens, Greece in 2013.
