Packages received at IC Mail Service containing alcohol can only be released to a recipient who is verified to be of legal drinking age (21 or older).
Only authorized shippers can send alcohol, and the packaging must be clearly marked requiring an adult signature.
IC Mail Service staff will sign for these packages, and the Office of the Registrar will be contacted to verify the recipient’s age. If verified, such packages are processed as normal, and held for pickup at the Mail Center to be released only to the addressee with their ID.
If a recipient is found to be below legal age, the package is processed in our system and Returned to Sender as Undeliverable (Under 21).
