Reflect. Refine. Renew.

Middle States Re-accreditation is a time for reflection and assessment as we bridge to IC's future.

The periodic reaccreditation process with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) is underway. Every eight years, Ithaca College is required to submit a Self-Study Report, followed by a campus visit by an MSCHE board of examiners.

The Self-Study is our opportunity to tell our story and show who we are, how we’ve come through some challenging times together, and how we are poised to move forward in our continuing efforts to provide our students with rewarding intellectual and co-curricular experiences that support them to be successful personally, academically, and professionally.

Final Draft of IC's Self-Study Report Now Available

IC has taken a major step forward on its journey to Middle States reaccreditation by completing the final draft of its Self-Study. The Self-Study conforms to Middle States’ expectations that we reflect on our institution’s progress as measured through the standards on mission and goals; ethics and integrity; design and delivery of the student learning experience; support of the student experience; effectiveness assessment; planning and resources; and governance/leadership/administration. It will be submitted to MSCHE in February.

We encourage all campus community members to engage with the self-study report— the more voices informed by it, the better. If you’re short on time, start with the introduction and conclusion for a clear, high-level overview. The introduction includes brief summaries of each chapter, making it easy to identify sections most relevant to your area of expertise and decide where to dive deeper. For convenience, the table of contents is fully hyperlinked and the PDF is bookmarked, allowing you to navigate quickly and read what matters most to you.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Mai An Rumney at middlestatesteam@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-3113.
