Michael Nave received his Master’s in Music Performance and Bachelor’s in Music Education from Ithaca College. During his Master’s work, Michael served as the graduate assistant of both the music education and music technology curriculum. Currently, Michael is the band director at Newark Valley Middle School and enjoys sparking students’ love for music.
Michael is an active trombonist in the Central NY region and maintains his own private lesson studio. He has performed with groups such as Symphoria, The Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, and Syracuse Stage. During his time at Ithaca College, Michael toured with the band 4 Point 0 across the East Coast as a trombonist/vocalist. His college trombone quartet was a two-time finalist for the Fort Worth Trombone Summit in Fort Worth, Texas. He is frequently called upon to perform with groups in the region in a variety styles such as jazz, rock, theater pits, and chamber music. He is currently the bass trombonist of the Ithaca-based Fall Creek Brass Band.
