HS Electives

Emily Ickes is a native of Kalamazoo, Michigan and graduated from Western Michigan University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in percussion performance. She continued her musical education at Ithaca College and completed a Master’s degree in 2009, studying under Gordon Stout. Currently, she resides in the Ithaca area and is a private instructor as well as an active freelance performer. Emily is a the principal timpanist for the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes, and she plays electric vibraphone for the fusion group the OXtet.
