Our Keynote Speaker

David J. West was appointed to the position of Medical Center Director at Veterans Administration (VA) Healthcare Network Upstate New York at Bath Medical Center in April 2007.

West began his career with the VA in 1987 at the Washington, D.C. VA Medical Center as a radiologic technologist, before serving as the associate director. Over the years, West has held positions of progressively greater responsibility. He has been the director of primary care at the Lebanon, Pennsylvania VA Medical Center; and the director of the business office and executive officer at the Washington, D.C. VA Medical Center.

West served in the U.S. Army from 1973 to 1978. He holds a master of science degree in health services administration from the College of St. Frances in Joliet, Illinois. In 2005, he became a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on several national and Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) level committees and task forces. He is the recipient of numerous performance and special achievement awards.
