Kelsey Walzer developed an interest and expertise in managing events through her major in CMD, her minor in writing, and her active involvement in many campus groups, including being a Park School Dean's Host, creating fun events for IC After Dark, and being on the Senior Class events committee. After graduation, she landed a job as a conference program manager for a pharmaceutical group and for the past eight years has had increasingly complex roles as an event designer and manager for several companies.
For instance, in one of her jobs, she produced 20–30 small-format global events annually of up to 2,100 attendees with full-service support including venue sourcing, contract negotiations, budget planning, registration site production, housing coordination, event flow and agenda management, menu selection, audio-visual orders, graphics needs, payment processing, and on-site support.
