The Box Office Staff run and maintain the Department of Theatre Arts ticket center, located in Dillingham Center. 

Qualifications:

  • Student must be a major within the Theatre Arts Management program;
    • Preference will be given to those who have held ticket office management and house management practicum positions.
  • Date of employment will run from August 1st through early September, 2016.
  • Must be available to work at least 20 hours per week between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm
  • Experience with customer service preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acquiring and demonstrating a thorough knowledge of:
    • Theatre seating maps
    • Length of show, dates and times
    • Details of productions (type, authors, themes, relevant personnel, etc.)
    • Directions to theatre
    • Parking solutions
    • Competing events on campus and in the city
    • Other ticketing outlets and online
    • Main stage website
    • Audience experience of sitting in theatre
  •  Selling and processing subscriptions using the Ticket Force ticketing system:
    • Know buyer types, sales guide, and payment types
    • Resolve patrons’ ticket problems and issues
    • Resolve problems with computer hardware and software issues
    • Reconcile cashier reports and troubleshoot discrepancies
    • Fill out and file forms correctly
  • Stewarding the box office space:
    • Limit access to box office space to appropriate personnel
    • Guard cash and safe
    • Document and refer problems with physical space (equipment, furniture, etc.) appropriately
    • Keep a clean and tidy work-space

Hours: 20+ per week between August 1 and early September
