The performance supervisor is in charge of student managers/coordinators including students managing box office, concessions, front of house, and opening night receptions. 


  • Student must be a major within the Theatre Arts Management program
  • Preference will be given to students with Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing
  • Must be available to work 5-10 hours per week between the hours of 12:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. (Saturday-Sunday) and 6:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. (Monday-Saturday)  
  • Experience in customer service 
  • Experience in front of house 
  • Excellent communication skills across multiple platforms
  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Demonstration of problem-solving ability
  • Desire to mentor other students 
  • Desire to lead peers and work closely with Theatre Arts Management faculty and staff 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acquiring and demonstrating a thorough knowledge of:
    • Front of House (box office, concessions, house management, opening night receptions) and Theatre Department policies and procedures
    • Theatre seating maps
    • Ticket scanning for hard tickets, print-at-home tickets, and tickets emailed to digital devices 
  • Resolve patrons’ ticket problems and issues
  • Resolve Theatre Arts Management student problems and issues
  • Resolve problems with computer hardware and software
  • Knowledge of productions’ length, performance dates, curtain and run times
  • Details of productions (type, authors, themes, relevant personnel, etc.)
  • Directions to the theatre
  • Parking solutions
  • Audience experience of sitting in theatre
  • Day/Night-of-show scenarios
  • Troubleshoot discrepancies in cash/credit/debit for box office and concessions reconciliation 
  • Troubleshoot discrepancies in concessions inventory 
  • Complete, distribute, and file forms correctly
  • Perform, teach, and enforce policies and procedures
  • Model appropriate professional behavior and attire 
  • Report problems with student staff to student managers and to Theatre Arts Management mentor
  • Other duties as assigned

Hours: dependent on schedule; varies by week
