Why should you come study Theatre Arts Management at Ithaca College?

We’ve got FIVE reasons for you and your family!

1. Tessitura ticketing system

Have you heard of the Metropolitan Opera, Kennedy Center, or Roundabout Theatre Company? We use the same ticketing system as they do - Tessitura. You will learn how to use the Tessitura ticketing system, gaining invaluable skills for internships through your journey at Ithaca College and, after graduation, career opportunities.

2. Flexible Coursework

Along with your required Theatre Arts Management coursework, you will be able to take courses across all disciplines on IC’s campus and, if you choose, abroad. Students can also support their studies by earning a minor in our most popular fields of Business, Live Events, and Legal Studies. Our flexible curriculum creates adaptable leaders.

3. Internship and career readiness

Our program trains students to become adaptable and strategic leaders. The experiential hands-on learning components of the degree will help you hone your craft in a supported learning environment, so you are ready to be a competitive applicant for summer internships and post-undergraduate career opportunities in the profession. For our alumni who choose to stay in the field, they often earn a competitive salary commensurate with experience, including typical benefits of a professional position.

4. Transferrable skills preparation

Students are prepared to use their skills in a variety of industries, from corporate fields in marketing, management, and accounting to leadership in public affairs and law. For those who choose, they can finish with the Master of Business Administration in Entertainment and Media with an additional year at Ithaca College. Some alumni have even started their own and continued to run their own businesses – Circus Culture, Emmy’s Organics, and Freelance Consultants, just to name a few.

5. Lifelong connections

Your cohort and current Theatre Arts Management students will become your extended family. From working together in our theatres to collaborating on classroom projects, our tight knit student and faculty community is the lifeblood of our program. You will become part of the TAMily from day one.
