Welcome to the web profile of Dr. Edd Schneider, Professor in the department ofStrategic Communication in the Park School of Communications at Ithaca College. I am also an affiliated faculty member with the Emerging Media major as well as the Animation minor.
Within the Park School I run the Innovation Lab, the Park School's place for experimental new media. My professional background is in the field of Instructional Technology, my PhD is in Instructional Systems Technology with a double minor in Telecommunications and Library & Information Science. I publish research centered on visual communication in media. I often focus on media I know well such as comic books and video games. I work hard to make sure I have an industry-standard skillset in motion graphics and 3D design, and within the Park School I am known as the VR guy and the 3D-printing guy.
Technology has changed drastically just in my academic career, I finished my undergraduate degree without an email account, I joined the faculty of Ithaca College from a department that heavily emphasized online learning. In the Park School I teach courses on media design, such as STCM11100: Presentation & Graphic Design, STCM22000: Interactive Media, and STCM 212000: Experience design.
