Ithaca College Chamber Orchestra
The Ithaca College Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Jonathan Pasternak performs Karel Husa Visiting Professor of Composition Ricardo Zohn-Muldoon’s ravishing work Candelabra III. The composer says about this piece: “Candelabra III is part of a series of works based on the same compositional principle and original material. In these works, a minute musical module ramifies in multiple directions and temporal planes, configuring a structure that emulates that of the homonymous cactus. Similarly, each successive work is an expansion of the previous one, both regarding the potentialities of the musical material, as well as the instrumentation. Each work is also a musical offering, lit in memory of a loved one.”
