Samantha Brown, PT, DPT, GCS earned her bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Lowell in Massachusetts and doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from Arcadia University in Pennsylvania. She is a licensed Physical Therapist in both New York and Massachusetts. Her clinical work has been primarily in the field of geriatrics and she earned specialist certification in geriatrics (GCS) from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. She is also LSVT BIG certified.

Dr. Brown began her clinical practice in acute care focusing on cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation and geriatric orthopedics. She continued to pursue a love of working with geriatric patients in Skilled Nursing and Home Care settings as both a clinician and Director of Rehabilitation. She began teaching part time at Ithaca College in 2014 and full time in 2015.

Current teaching responsibilities include Cardiac and Pulmonary Testing and Management, Introduction to Physical Therapy, and coordination of the Integrated Clinical Education courses and Clinical Education 2. Dr. Brown is involved in clinical research on the effects of exercise on people with Parkinson Disease and research on Interprofessional Education. 

In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Brown is currently involved in the development of a formal interprofessional education program and has lead the development of a new patient simulation lab for HSHP.
