Initiating Recruitment

The need for new or replacement positions should be identified as early as possible and put forth to the New and Vacant Position Committee (through the VP or Dean). The Hiring Manager, Search Chair, or designated Admin Support meets with the Office of Human Resources to discuss the position, including issues such as position classification, salary administration, job description, advertisement development, scope of search, and other relevant issues.

Faculty, administrators, and staff play multiple roles in recruiting potential employees; and in nurturing persons who become members of the Ithaca community. To attract high quality and diverse faculty, administrators, and staff will require much more than traditional techniques. The following diversity conscious search and selection procedures are the first essential component of a multifaceted series of programs and initiatives to attract, develop, and retain the diverse faculty, administrators, and staff we have and hope to attract to Ithaca College.

To fill a vacancy or create a position, an online Recruitment Request must be submitted through IC HR Cloud.
