Title

The Off-Campus Community Service work-study program encourages employment within community service organizations and in fields related to a student’s major of study.

Ithaca College, with assistance from the federal government, pays students to work at selected nonprofit agencies in Ithaca and the greater Ithaca area.

THERE IS LIMITED AVAILABILITY WITHIN THIS PROGRAM, THEREFORE THESE POSITIONS ARE FILLED ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVE BASIS.

  • A student must have a Federal Work-Study award allocated in their Financial Aid package to be eligible to work in this program.

  • The only locations and positions available for this program are the ones that have been verified and approved by the college.

  • Due to the high demand to work in this program and the limited amount of funding and openings, we've created a single online application that opens up on the second Monday of August and stays open until the program is full. STUDENTS must complete this application to be considered for this program and if the application is not available then then the program is full and the application process has been closed until the following August.

  • Once a student applies and the student employment office determines that the applicant is “eligible” to work in this program, our office will then contact each student, in the order that their application was received, for an appointment to meet and to go over the program.

  • When a student meets with the student employment office, they will then have an opportunity to view the various locations and job openings that are available to them to work at.  It is then up to the student to contact the various approved locations that are of interest to them.
