Group Bike Ride for Staff and Faculty -- Friday, July 9

By Wendy Hankle, July 6, 2021

You are invited to a leisurely bike ride for IC staff and faculty on the South Hill Recreation Way on Friday, July 9, at 10:00 a.m.

We’ll meet at the trailhead closest to campus, where Hudson splits off of Coddington (the green cattle gate entrance, not the wooden fence with “South Hill” art on it) and ride the trail out to Burns Road and back. The distance is about 2.3 miles one way; 4.6 for the out-and-back. The trail surface is packed gravel and stone dust.

This is a fun, low pressure / no pressure ride (referring to effort and anxiety, not your tires!), suitable for beginners. We can also extend the ride if folks want to pedal around a bit more.

Bring your own water. I’ll bring my tire pump if anyone needs it.

This ride is being offered as part of Bike Walk Tompkins’ ongoing effort to get folks on wheels. If you are new to cycling or need to dust off your skills, Bike Walk Tompkins provides free bike skills classes.

I also serve as BWT Bike Mentor, so feel free to ping me if you would like additional information about Bike Walk Tompkins or want to participate in more group rides. Wendy Hankle, whankle@ithaca.edu.
