Announcing the Retirement of Nancy Reynolds

By Brittany McCown, July 7, 2021

With a mixed bag of emotions, we are writing to announce the retirement of Nancy Reynolds, MSPH, MCHES, NBC-HWC, Program Director of the Center for Health Promotion within the Center for Counseling, Health, & Wellness after over a decade of service to Ithaca College students.

Nancy not only regularly worked closely with students by providing services that helped them develop healthy habits while attending IC, but she also worked collaboratively with various departments throughout campus to implement programs and policies.  Some of Nancy’s proudest accomplishments are:

  • Providing leadership for the Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) Team which brought about the creation of the Medical Amnesty Policy (MAP), the AOD Judicial Protocol, and brought Naloxone & Opioid Overdose workshops to campus
  • Developing the BASICS (Balancing Alcohol and Substance use to Improve College Success) Program for IC, including being a part of creating content for the BASICS feedback report, which is now used on multiple campuses nationwide
  • Working with our Health Promotion Specialist, Kristen Lind, M.Ed., to develop our THRIVE Wellness Coaching program for students
  • Bringing the Motivational Interviewing Training to Ithaca College’s campus for the last 10 years

Thank you, Nancy, for all your hard work in helping so many students develop important skills that they can utilize for the rest of their lives and for the collaborative work you have done in shaping the wellness landscape of IC!  You will be sorely missed!
