Doug Turnbull gives keynote talk on music tech research at IndabaX Nigeria

On Friday, September 24, Prof. Doug Turnbull (Computer Science) will give a keynote talk entitled "Why Research Music?" at the IndabaX Nigeria conference.

Keynote Abstract:
Music is important. It entertains us, is part of our culture, and is a powerful way to communicate with one another. Music is also a big industry with over $60B USD (₦24T NGN) in global revenues per year. In this talk, I’ll motivate why music is a rich domain for machine learning research. I also describe how one can get started using resources that are being developed by a growing community of music information retrieval researchers.
