Environmental and Climate Justice Scholar, Dr. Prakash Kashwan to Visit IC on Tuesday, October 26!

The Department of Environmental Studies and Sciences, the Park Center for Independent Media (PCIM), Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF), the Department of Politics, and the Department of Physics proudly present: “A Conversation between Dr. Prakash Kashwan and Dr. Jake Brenner” on Tuesday, October 26 at 6 p.m. via Zoom.

Dr. Kashwan is a professor of Political Science and a prolific scholar-activist in the fields of climate and environmental justice at the University of Connecticut, Storrs. His interests are far-reaching, including human rights, environmental justice, south Asia in world politics, climate justice, geoengineering, tree-planting, forest and water conservation, power dynamics, collective action, the commons, and youth activism. He is the author of the widely reviewed and acclaimed book Democracy in the Woods: Environmental Conservation and Social Justice in India, Tanzania, and Mexico (Oxford University Press, 2017) and a Co-Editor of the journal Environmental Politics.
