Professor Barney Beins (Psychology) has been elected to office in the Society for the History of Psychology

Barney Beins has been elected president of the Society for the History of Psychology (SHP) for 2024.  

He will begin the presidential sequence as president-elect in 2023, president in 2024, and past president in 2025.

The Society for the History of Psychology (SHP) is a division of the American Psychological Association (APA). Membership includes national and international scholars and teachers who focus on the development of theories and practice of psychology and on the historical contributions of psychologists around the world.  SHP holds its annual meeting during the convention of the American Psychological Association.

He has published journal articles and book chapters on the history of psychology and has made presentation on aspects of history at the conventions of the American Psychological Association, New England Psychological Association, Eastern Psychological Association, and at other regional meetings. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association.
