In only six weeks, Professor Chrissy Guest’s Live Event Production course produced segments for the Ithaca College 10th President Inauguration. Professor Guest produced the inauguration event as chair of the Run of Show Inauguration Committee.
Segments produced by her class included the trivia pre-show presentation; welcome videos; an Oscar-like award show piece with faculty and staff; a surprise flash mob; and a short documentary on President Cornish's life for which a team of students traveled to Baltimore to conduct and film.
The class also produced "A Day in the Life" videos for the Music, Theater, and Dance School event that evening.
During the inauguration, students from the Live Event Production Course worked as camera operators, stage managers, control room and engineering staff. Professor Peter Johanns directed the inauguration production and Professor Chrissy Guest directed the MTD event while giving multiple students the opportunity to technical direct live musical numbers as they took turns behind the video switcher.
