New Flight Options to NYC for Local Air Travelers

By News, November 1, 2022

Ithaca Tompkins International Airport (ITH) has announced that Delta Air Lines will be offering two daily flights to John F. Kennedy International Airport starting January 9, 2023. Travelers can begin booking now for the 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. departures. The flights will use larger, more fuel-efficient 75-seat CRJ-900 regional jets with wi-fi and first-class options.

In addition to allowing easy access to New York City, the twice-daily flights plug into Delta’s vast domestic and international route network at JFK, providing seamless connecting options to get Ithaca-area flyers where they need to go. A return flight from JFK arriving in Ithaca at 10:30 p.m. will make a day trip for business or pleasure possible. United Airlines will continue to offer daily non-stop flights from Ithaca to its hub at Newark Liberty International Airport.

“We are thrilled with this news from ITH and Delta, which will make travel for Ithaca College staff, faculty, and students much more convenient, time efficient, and cost effective, whether they are going down and back to the city for a day of meetings or traveling for college breaks,” said Laurie Koehler, vice president for marketing and enrollment strategy and a member of the ITH Air Service Board. “It will also allow greater access for prospective students as well as returning alumni who want to visit IC. Having both Delta and United Airlines as committed partners is great for the entire community.”
