Dear Campus Community:

As we prepare to begin an exciting new year in the Roy H. Park School of Communications, I am writing to share with the campus community the news that Associate Dean Bryan Roberts has departed Ithaca College to return to the University of Connecticut, his alma mater, as director of its Championship Labs, an innovative program that educates and inspires student-athletes and student influencers to become entrepreneurs in leveraging their name, image, and likeness (NIL). Bryan has also received a faculty appointment in UConn’s Department of Communication.

Since joining the Park School in January 2011, Bryan has been a relentless recruiter and created countless internship connections and employment opportunities for students in the world of media including sports, news, and social.

In 2017, Bryan began a project at the college preparing students to become licensed drone pilots. Since then, the Ithaca College Drone Squadron has become an official student organization, and Ithaca College has joined the NUAIR Alliance, a New York based not-for-profit coalition of more than 100 private and public entities and academic institutions working together to operate and oversee Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) test ranges in New York, Massachusetts, and Michigan.

Bryan is a staunch supporter of and active advocate for The Michael J. Fox Foundation, where he participates in Parkinson’s disease clinical research and travels to speak for the foundation’s massive public health initiative, Partners in Parkinson’s.

I will soon be announcing plans for interim leadership in the associate dean’s office and the search for his successor.

Bryan has contributed much to the Park School and Ithaca College and we wish him the best of luck in this exciting new position. He can be reached via email at bryan.roberts@uconn.edu.

Sincerely,

Amy P. Falkner
Dean, Roy. H. Park School of Communications
