Getting Started with Microsoft Teams Webinar 8/30

Come learn more about Microsoft Teams in this free webinar hosted by the Division of Information Technology and Analytics on Wednesday, August 30 from 10-11 AM. Teams is a communication and collaboration platform for Microsoft 365 that is used widely across campus for departments, project groups, committees, and organizations to remain connected with one another whether in person or virtual. This will be a 1-hour training session with time for questions and answers.

This session is great for beginner users of Microsoft Teams or those who have not yet used Teams for chat or team-based collaboration. This session will cover the following topics and more:

  • Accessing Teams
  • Reviewing activity and notifications
  • The differences in 1-1 and group chat, and discussions within a team
  • The differences in channels (standard, private, shared)
  • An overview of files and the difference in files stored on OneDrive and in a team
  • The benefit of files stored within OneDrive or a team - such as co-authoring
  • An overview of meetings and webinars and its features - including closed captioning, recordings, and breakout rooms
  • Search
  • An overview of apps within Teams, including OneNote, Planner, To Do, Lists
