November Elections are Approaching Quickly: Be Vote Ready!

In November, most states and municipalities will be holding elections.  Don’t miss your chance to vote this year. Registering now will also help you start preparing to vote in the presidential elections happening in November 2024.

Students can vote EITHER (not BOTH) in Ithaca using your local addresses or at your permanent location.

Students planning to vote in New York State must have their voter registration ARRIVE TO their local Board of Elections by October 28. Voting regulations and dates vary from state to state, please check with your local Board of Elections for information for your home location.

Early voting in NY begins on October 28.  Election Day is Tuesday, November 7 (always the first Tuesday in November).

You can register to vote anywhere in the US at studentvote.org or vote411.org

First-time voters should visit your local Board of Elections website to learn more about the rules of voting and registration and absentee ballots in your state.  Your Board of Elections will also have more information about the candidates and issues that will be on the ballot.

If you want to learn more about how to be prepared as a new voter – you can come to this Student Leadership Institute presentation “Be Vote Ready!” on Thursday, November 19 at 11:00 am in Gannett Center (Library) room 319.  (Please note time change from 1:00 pm)
