Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Weeklong Campus-Wide Celebration Begins Monday, Feb. 12!

Join the Ithaca College community as we honor and commemorate the life and enduring impact of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Ithaca College is proud to present our Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Celebration Week, taking place from Monday, February 12, to Saturday, February 17, 2024. This year's theme, "Amplifying The Voices of Womxn of Color," will be explored through a series of engaging events including workshops, panel discussions, dance workshops, and a community service opportunity.

We will kickoff the week with an exciting discussion with a panel discussion focusing on the experiences of women of color in leadership roles at Ithaca College on Monday, February 12, at 5:00 p.m. Our esteemed panelists include Nichole Eversley Bradwell, Executive Director of Admission; Dr. Te-Wen Lo, Associate Professor of Biology; Mika Kennedy, Assistant Professor for The Center for Study of Culture, Race, and Ethnicity; and our very own President La Jerne Terry Cornish.

Our featured keynote presentation, featuring alumnae Eden Strachan and Cypress Rite, will be held on Thursday, February 15, at 4 p.m. in Emerson Suites, Campus Center. Additionally, our annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Program will host their First Year Cohort Civil Rights Presentation at 6:00 p.m. at Emerson Suites.
