ATTEND THE FEB. 21 WIND ENSEMBLE CONCERT

By Daniel Cook, February 17, 2024

Wind Ensemble In Concert - Feb 21, 8:15pm

The Ithaca College Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Daniel Cook, will be presenting a concert on Wednesday, February 21 at 8:15pm in Ford Hall (Whalen Center for Music).

The IC Wind Ensemble performs a powerful program entitled "In Remembrance." We reflect on the 80th anniversary of the "Big Week" of battles of World War 2, and of the aftermath of US conflicts in the early 2000s. Our program unfolds featuring the healing power of music. We remember composer David Del Tredici, who writes, "Composing music at such a time may have seemed an irrelevant pursuit, but it nevertheless served to keep me sane, stable and sanguine, despite the world's spiraling maelstrom." We welcome Arnald Gabriel '50 Visiting Conductor Dr. Travis Cross to join us in performance as well.

This is a free program, and we welcome all to our performance!
