Pre-Release Screening of "Ordinary Angels" with director Jon Gunn '95

"Ordinary Angels" screening on Wednesday, February 21st at 5pm in the Park Auditorium

The Park School is excited to invite you to a special pre-release screening of Lionsgate Pictures’ upcoming feature, Ordinary Angels, directed by Park School alumnus, Jon Gunn ’95.

Free and open to all students, faculty, and staff.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Jon Gunn ’95 and Amelia Rogers ’97, SVP, Global Marketing and Content Strategy, Lionsgate (bios below). The Q&A will be moderated by Daisy Bolger ’26, Film, Photography and Visual Arts major and Ryan Williams-Abrams ’25, Cinema & Photography major.

Ordinary Angels (starring Alan Ritchson, Hilary Swank, Amy Acker) is inspired by the incredible true story of a hairdresser who single-handedly rallies an entire community to help a widowed father save the life of his critically ill young daughter.

Jon Gunn ’95
(Director)

For 25 years, Jon Gunn has worked as a writer, director, editor and producer. His work ranges from independent comedy and drama to studio tentpoles. As a director, his feature films include MY DATE WITH DREW, LIKE DANDELION DUST, and the upcoming features THE UNBREAKABLE BOY, and ORDINARY ANGELS.

Gunn has also co-written numerous studio movies, including THE MAGIC 8 BALL for Paramount, THE NUTCRACKER for Universal, MONOPOLY for Hasbro/Sony, and multiple features for Dreamworks animation, including B.O.O. THE BUREAU OF OTHERWORLDLY OPERATIONS, starring Seth Rogen, Melissa McCarthy, and Bill Murray.

Most recently, Gunn co-wrote the musical biopic I STILL BELIEVE, based on the life of singer Jeremy Camp, and AMERICAN UNDERDOG, the true life story of NFL superstar Kurt Warner, which was released in theaters nationwide Christmas 2021.

Amelia McPartlon Rogers ’97
(Senior VP, Global Marketing and Content Strategy of the Motion Picture Group, LIONSGATE)

 Amelia oversees the marketing strategy for specialty film releases at Lionsgate in the Motion Picture Group. Recent favorite campaigns include SCRAMBLED, SISU, ALICE DARLING, FALL, and the upcoming ORDINARY ANGELS.  

Previously, Amelia was a longtime publicist at Walt Disney Studios and a graduate of IC’s Park School of Communications Class of 1997.
