Combined Sections Meeting in Boston, MA was attended by 15,000 physical therapists February 15-17, 2024. During the Opening Ceremonies, Dr. Hilary Greenberger, the chair of the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, welcomed the new and renewed board-certified physical therapists from 9 different specialty areas. The following faculty and alumni presented at the conference:
Teresa Chen and alumni Kayleen Alvarado-Rodriguez and Jamie Kronenberg presented a poster, “Empowering Physical Therapy Students and Professionals: Fostering Personal and Professional Growth through Individualized Mentorship.”
Teresa Chen and Exercise Science and Athletic Training faculty member Pat McKeon, and Motion Analysis Staff, Joel Fadness presented a poster, “Intrinsic Foot Muscle Contraction for Alleviating Negative Impact on Standing Balance.”
Laura Gras presented in the 2-hour session, “The 5Ms of Geriatrics: The Missing Link in Movement System Framework.”
Megan Hotchkiss presented a poster with clinical education colleagues, “Magnitude of Racial Bias and Microaggressions Experienced by PT Students during First Clinical Education Experiences” which won the Social Responsibility Award from the Global Health special interest group.
