Reminder: The Clock Is Ticking! Apply by March 7 to Present at the College-wide James J. Whalen Academic Symposium

You're already doing the work for class; this is your chance to share it!

Choose whether to present a print or digital poster, give an oral presentation, or showcase your creative work.

To participate, you’ll need to submit your 250-500-word project summary (“abstract”) using the Online Submission Form by Thursday, March 7, 2024. (If you would like to be considered for an award, your project summary must be between 500 and 700 words.) Once you submit the form, you will receive an email detailing your next steps.

New:

  • Sustainability track: Highlighting Energy & Sustainability Research and Creativity! The cross-disciplinary energy and sustainability work that increasing numbers of IC students are participating in will now be highlighted through the Whalen Symposium. These projects help Ithaca College and Upstate New York communities address the complex challenges associated with climate change. Separate awards will be presented in the sustainability category. To participate in this category, select "Sustainability" as your school when you submit the Whalen Abstract Submission Form.
  • A limited number of digital poster presentations will be accepted. Please select “digital poster” as your option in presentation type when completing the Whalen Abstract Submission Form. Save your presentation as a pdf and bring it to the Symposium on a flash drive that has been formatted for Windows computers.

If you have already submitted your abstract and would like to present a digital poster, please email whalen@ithaca.edu.)

See the Whalen Symposium website for more information. Email whalen@ithaca.edu if you have any questions.

We look forward to celebrating your research or creative work!

Sincerely,

The Whalen Symposium Committee
