After a double-blind review of submissions in the qualifying round of the contest against students from across the country, the top 26 teams were chosen to contend in the semi-finals. Three Ithaca College IMC teams entered, and all three were selected as semi-finalists. Semi-finalist teams then created media plans that were reviewed by an expert panel of judges, and the best six teams in the country were selected to advance to compete this summer in Washington, D.C. for the National Excellence in Media Award and $18,500 in scholarships. Molly and Kate were selected as one of these top finalist teams!

Molly and Kate have earned a week-long, all-expenses-paid trip to D.C., including networking and training with media professionals from media organizations such as POLITICO, Google, iHeart Media, and The Washington Post. They will present their plan to media executives in the final competition, on June 6. Their competition advisor, Dr. Lisa Farman, will accompany them to the finals.

Congratulations to our finalist team, and good luck in Washington, D.C.!
