Event Protocol: Online Events 

  1. Arrive to your virtual event at least 10 minutes in advance to ensure your technology is working.  

  1. If you have an outside vendor meet with them before your event to go over a contingency plan if technology creates an issue.  

  1. Make sure event is appropriate to your audience and there isn’t excessive inappropriate language or actions.  

  1. Optional: Coordinate clothing colors to look organized as a club and/or create virtual backgrounds.  

  1. When planning your event consider students who are visually or hearing impaired.  

  1. When talking during the virtual event, it is encouraged to mute yourself when you are not speaking.

Event Protocol: Online Meetings 

  1. Arrive to your virtual meeting at least 10 minutes in advance to ensure your technology is working.  

  1. Make sure to prepare an agenda or list of action items to accomplish. 

  1. It is encouraged to share the agenda before the meeting or share it during the meeting to keep everyone on track. 

  1. Treat your virtual meeting similar to your in-person meeting. It’s encouraged to be sitting at table in appropriate clothing – believe it or not this gives you the feeling of being person.  

  1. Consider how you will host the meeting with consideration to visually and hearing impaired students in attendance.  

  1. When talking during the virtual meeting, it is encouraged to mute yourself when you are not speaking.
