Guide to the New Student Checklist

The following is the information your student needs in order to get started. Please note that items must be completed before the first-day of classes. Students should access their personalized new student checklist within their new student portal.

Set up your Netpass credentials.

The registrar's office will email you detailed information about how to access the systems—including your IC email—that you will use daily.

Send your official final transcript(s) to the Office of Admission.
Available: May 1

Have your high school (or college) send your final transcript to the Office of Admission. If you have this, please share as early you can.

Send your official AP or IB score report(s) to the Office of the Registrar.
Available: May 1

Have the College Board send your AP Score Report to the Office of the Registrar. If you have this, please share as early you can.

Pre-Registration & Course Registration

Please note that placement exams and declaring a ICC theme are required at least 24 hours prior to registration. 

Complete Math Placement Exam

Due: 24 hours before registering for courses

All entering students must take the Math Placement Exam regardless of any math courses you are transferring into Ithaca College. Review the resources and more information about the exam.

Complete Language Placement Exam
Available: June 1
Due: 24 hours before registering for courses

Declare your ICC Theme
Available: June 1
Due: 24 hours before registering for courses

Explore the Integrative Core Curriculum and declare your ICC theme.

  • First-Year Students: Review your course registration modules.
    Available: August 3

    Log in to Sakai to complete the registration modules that will prepare you to register for your fall courses. (Use your Netpass to log in.) We encourage students complete their registration by the due date, however, the registration process will remain open through the first week of classes.
     
  • Transfer Students: Course registration.

    Transfer students will work directly with a representative in the dean's office of the school that administers your major to register for your fall semester classes. Please feel free to reach out at any time to start this process early.
     
  • First-Year Students: Register for your fall semester classes.

    Log in to HomerConnect and register for your fall courses after you complete the required pre-registration modules in Sakai. We encourage students to register by the due date, however, the registration process will remain open through the first week of classes.

Submit required health forms.

Review the student health insurance plan and choose whether to accept or decline it.
