Office Highlight: Center for IDEAS

The Center for IDEAS is dedicated to helping students better connect their lived experiences to the larger ideals of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Social Change (IDEAS) as well as empowering marginalized students. We prioritize leadership development as well as creating spaces to discuss race, class, and power. Resources and opportunities from our office include educational workshops, Intercultural Career Connections, and MLK Celebration Week—a week of events to deepen our commitment to social justice and honor our history. We would love to connect with you! Please email us at ideas@ithaca.edu with any questions, and be sure to check out our website

Join New Student & Transition Programs, the Center for IDEAS, and the LGBT Center in a web chat to learn more about the resources they provide, initiatives they are involved in on campus, identity-based programming that aims to empower marginalized populations, and how you can get involved!

Remember to Submit Your Health Forms

Ithaca College requires a hard copy of your immunization records and a physical exam completed by your home physician within the past year. Mail these records to Hammond Health Center, Ithaca College, 953 Danby Road, Ithaca, NY 14850. You must also submit a health history form, electronic immunization form, notice of privacy practices form, meningococcal response form, and tuberculosis assessment form electronically. Access these forms by clicking on the “Forms” tab in the MyICHealthCenter web portal.

Student Org Spotlight: Ithaca College BomberTHON

Ithaca College BomberTHON is a student-run organization that is part of a network of more than two hundred colleges and universities hosting dance marathons to benefit Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. BomberTHON's fundraising efforts span the course of the year and culminate in a dance marathon celebrating participants' efforts and showing hospitalized children that we at Ithaca College are standing with them. Ithaca College supports Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital in Syracuse, New York.

IC Tradition: Cortaca Jug

cortaca jug

The Cortaca Jug is the trophy given to the winner of the annual football game played between the Red Dragons of the State University of New York (SUNY) at Cortland and the Bombers of Ithaca College. (“Cortaca” is a combination of the colleges' names.) The match-up is one of the most prominent in small college football. The Cortaca game typically sells out, with thousands of fans packed in to see the game and many more watching at viewing parties across the country. Though the game won’t be played this year, it is an important IC tradition and a way for the whole community—including alumni, family, and friends—to come together to celebrate our school.

Get Engaged: Anti-Racist Workspace for White-Identifying Students

students looking at webchat

IC is creating space for white-identifying students who want to be in a community to learn, challenge one another, and hold each other accountable. Shift from “I'm not racist” to truly understand what it means to be anti-racist in thought and practice. Whether you are just beginning your journey to become anti-racist or are well-practiced and disciplined at interrupting the script of white supremacy, you are welcome and encouraged to participate.

This workspace will focus on understanding systemic racism and white privilege. Email CenterforIDEAS@ithaca.edu to register.

Campus Health and Safety amid COVID-19

Ithaca College is committed to the health and safety of all during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Please visit our Return to Campus website for archived updates and messages, FAQs, and more about the health and safety precautions we are taking as a community.

Run for Student Governance Council

The Student Governance Council (SGC) is the sole governing body advocating for the rights and privileges of all Ithaca College students. As elected representatives of the student body, SGC helps effect change on campus, host events, and allocate funding to student organizations. New students can run for the offices of Class of 2024 Senators, Transfer Senator, or as a Senator for the School of Business, Roy H. Park School of Communications, or School of Health Sciences and Human Performance. Contact SGC President Connor Shea at sgcpresident@ithaca.edu or SGC Senate Chair Abigail Murtha at sgcsenatechair@ithaca.edu for additional information.
