Dr. Julian Fuentes is a Student Success Coach in the Center for Student Success and Retention. Originally from Decatur, MS, Julian attended the University of Mississippi before earning his PhD in Social Psychology from Syracuse University. His research focused on understanding how people’s experiences in their close relationships influence their preferences for different kinds of social support. Hoping to put his research into practice, Julian is committed to providing students with the support they need as they pursue a college education.
Julian is also a first-generation Mexican American and first-generation staff member. In his spare time, Julian enjoys learning about other cultures and languages, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and exploring national parks.
