Office: Egbert Hall 325
Speciality: Leadership Development, Programming, Community Service

Hello, my name is Jess Shapiro (she/her/hers) and I am the Assistant Director of Student Engagement in the Office of Student Engagement.  I serve as the advisor to IC After Dark, a student organization dedicated to providing late-night weekend programming for students, as well as the Senior Class Cabinet and Senior Week committee.  I also coordinate Service Saturdays, Leadership Weekend (for new students), the Student Leadership Institute, and awards & scholarships (including the Peggy Ryan Williams Award for Academic & Community Leadership).  I am happy to answer questions about any of these activities!

I grew up in Santa Monica, CA and my parents still live there!  However, since moving to Boston for college, I now consider myself an East Coaster.  Outside of work, I love spending time with my spouse and orange cat (Baboo), reading, baking, going to movies and theatre, and trying new restaurants.

My office is located in Egbert Hall 325 right behind the Office of Student Engagement front desk, although I spend much of my time in my home "office" these days. Please feel free to stop in to see me or email/call/Teams me with any questions or concerns you may have.  I typically work from 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday-Friday (Monday-Thursday for summer 2021).  You can reach me at or via phone at 607-274-3222.  If you call, leave a voicemail and I'll get back to you!
